The School Museum “Paolo e Ornella Ricca” of the University of Macerata is located at the 1st floor of the “Centro Direzionale” (Business Center) in st. Carducci n. 63/a, in Macerata.
BY TRAIN
The Museum is located 500 meters from the train station: reachable after a 10-minute walk and two pedestrian crossings.
The timetables of the Civitanova-Fabriano route and the related fares are available on the website www.trenitalia.it or at the station ticket office. Children under 4 travel for free; up to 12 travel at 50% discounted fares.
BY BUS
The Museum can also be reached by urban transport via the bus-lines n. 2, 7, 8 and the Circular. You can find two bus-stops just in front of the building where the Museum is located: in Via Carducci and Viale Don Bosco. To consult the urban transport schedule, visit the APM website.
BY CAR
From the A14 highway: take the CIVITANOVA MARCHE-MACERATA exit and follow the signs for Macerata. After about 20 km on the State Road 77 (SS77), take the MACERATA SUD-CORRIDONIA exit.
From the A1 highway. For those coming from Florence: Val di Chiana exit, direction Perugia-Foligno-Colfiorito. For those coming from Rome: Orte exit, direction Terni-Foligno-Colfiorito. Take the State Road 77 (SS77) towards Tolentino/Civitanova Marche, then take the MACERATA NORD-SFORZACOSTA exit.
PARKING AND FARES
In the stretch of Via Carducci in front of the Business Center, parking spaces for disabled people are available (they are pointed out by the blue arrow in the image on the right).
For those traveling by car can park in the neighbouring streets: the image on the right illustrates (yellow arrows) the direction of the streets where parking is possible at the rate of € 1.00/hour in the time slots: 09.00/13.00 and 15.30/20.00 (free parking on Sundays).
The Business Center is equipped with an underground paid parking (the entrance is indicated by the red arrow) from which you can reach the museum with an accessible elevator. Please be aware that vehicles over 1.80 m in height are not allowed access, and LPG vehicles are also prohibited.
The hourly fares of underground parking are the following:
- € 1,00/hour at 7.00-13.00 (30 minutes fraction costs € 0,50);
- € 0,80/hour at 13.00-21.00 (30 minutes fraction costs € 0,40);
- € 1,00/hour at 21.00-07.00 (30 minutes fraction costs € 0,50);
- The maximum daily rate is € 4,50. The Parking is open H24, from mon/sun (holidays included).
For large coaches: it is recommended to use as the staging/pick-up point the area near the Trail Station, which is only 500 meters from the museum.
